Leave a Legacy
Why Leave a Legacy
By leaving a gift in your will to the William Morris Society, you ensure that his legacy — in design, in reform, in art, and in craftsmanship — continues to thrive for generations to come.
Your support helps us:
- Preserve and display our collection
- Offer educational experiences to schools, families and communities
- Support exhibitions and research on Morris’s life and works
- Maintain our historic headquarters and Morris’s home at Kelmscott House

Your Gift Matters
Whether large or small, every legacy gift contributes to our mission.
You could help us:
- Fund conservation of rare Morris designs
- Develop inclusive outreach programmes
- Support emerging scholars and artists
- Ensure the long-term care of Kelmscott House and its archives
Types of Gifts:
- A percentage of your estate
- A specific sum of money
- A specific item (e.g., artwork, book, or property)
How to Leave a Legacy
It’s simple to include a gift in your will. We recommend speaking to a solicitor or professional adviser. Suggested wording:
“I give [X% of my estate / £X / item] to The William Morris Society, Charity No. 1159382 of Kelmscott House, 26 Upper Mall, London W6 9TA, for its general charitable purposes.”
If you’ve already made a will, you can add a gift by using a codicil or updating it.
Please do let us know if you’ve included us — we’d love to thank you and keep you engaged with the society and its activities.
