The William Morris Society has officially reopened to the public with the wonderful exhibition ‘The Art of Wallpaper: Morris & Co. in Context’. The exhibition has been kindly loaned by Sanderson Design Group and originally curated by Mary Schoeser at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh.

On display will be a range of wallpapers from Sanderson’s own archive to chart the development of wallpaper design in the 19th century and it’s remaining legacy today.
Early 19th century French wallpapers will be contextualised with Islamic inspired designs of the reform movement prompting William Morris’s own response and contribution to interior design trends of the time. This is a once in lifetime exhibition that you won’t want to miss! Keep an eye out for opening dates and related events
