We are pleased to announce that The William Morris Society and Seep, an innovator in sustainable cleaning tools, have collaborated on their newest limited edition set of eco sponge cloths. The Society has provided two iconic Morris & Co. designs from their collection to perpetuate Morris’s vision to “have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”. ‘Arcadia’ (1886) by May Morris and ‘Golden Lily’ (1899) by John Henry Dearle elevate the everyday while highlighting these historic patterns for the modern consumer.
Morris was not only concerned with making the home a more beautiful place but openly shared his concerns about the impact of industrial manufacturing on the environment, working hard to protect the natural world; his greatest source of inspiration. Seep is a registered B-Corp creating sponges and cleaning tools made from renewable, ethically sourced materials, containing zero microplastics, and are also compostable.
This newest collaboration reflects the Society’s shared values with Seep’s dedication to eco-friendly living and the Society’s charitable mission to share the work and life of William Morris and his contemporaries with the public.
