Perpetuating the memory of one of the greatest men of the Victorian age

Membership

The William Morris Society has a world-wide membership and offers the opportunity, together with fellow Morrisians both in Britain and abroad, to perpetuate the memory of one of the greatest men of the nineteenth century. The Society also encourages the work of local, regional and national groups.

Regular events include a wide range of talks on all aspects of Morris’s life and work, along with those of his circle and those who perpetuate his ideas and attitudes. The events are varied and we also organise workshops, the annual Kelmscott Lecture, a Morris Birthday Party, a Summer Garden Party, guided walks and visits to exhibitions and such places as Red House, Kelmscott Manor, Standen and Wightwick Manor. Members are entitled to discounted tickets for Society events.

Members of the Society receive our Magazine three times a year which reports on Society events, related events, new publications and other matters of interest to members and the Newsletter of the William Morris Society in the USA. Members also receive a copy of the Journal of William Morris Studies, published biannually, which includes scholarly articles across the field of Morris studies and reviews of publications relevant to Morris’s life and work.

Our members are vital to the work of the Society and we are always delighted to welcome new members and expand our community in the UK and abroad. If you would like to join the William Morris Society online please do so below, or alternatively complete the Membership Form and send to the Membership Secretary.

The William Morris Society in the United States maintains close ties with its British counterpart, though it holds separate events and issues additional mailings. U. S. residents who join the US Morris Society are automatically enrolled in the UK Morris Society. For more information, see the websites of the William Morris Society in the US and the William Morris Society of Canada.
