Perpetuating the memory of one of the greatest men of the Victorian age

“The Greatest Man I Ever Knew”: Henry Arthur Jones’s view of William Morris

June 11, 2016 14.15 at The William Morris Society, Kelmscott House

This lecture will throw light on the little-known relationship between the successful playwright H.A. Jones (1851-1929) and Morris, who was commissioned by him to provide designs for his play The Crusaders, and became a great admirer.

Peter Faulkner is a former editor of the JWMS, former honorary secretary of the Society and taught English at Fircroft College in Birmingham and at the universities of Durham and Exeter.
