Domestic Design: The Silver Studio (1880-1963) CANCELLED

First opening its doors in 1880, the Silver Studio was responsible for the designs behind thousands of textiles, wallpapers, carpets, and even clocks and cutlery, which filled late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century homes. The Silver Studio Collection, containing 20,000 of their designs, as well as their archive and reference collection, is now cared for by the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture (MoDA). This talk will explore the history of the Studio, their designs, and the relationship between William Morris and Arthur Silver, the studio’s founder, as design contemporaries.
