Perpetuating the memory of one of the greatest figures of the Victorian age

Arts & Crafts Wallpaper Tour

November 9, 2022 10.30 - 13.00 at The William Morris Society and Emery Walker's House

An opportunity to get up close to items that are rarely on show to the public with a specialist tour of both the Society’s premises and nearby Emery Walker’s House. The tour will explore the history of wallpaper with a particular emphasis on William Morris’ designs. Original wallpaper samples from both collections will be showcased.

The curator led tour will start at the William Morris Society, begining with tea/coffee and biscuits followed by an introduction to the William Morris Society’s wallpaper collection. A short walk along the river will then take the group to Emery Walker’s House (7 Hammersmith Terrace) where you will be able to view and hear about the wallpapers in situ at this recently restored Arts & Crafts gem. Due to space constraints at Emery Walker’s House, places are strictly limited to 8 per tour.

Please note that due to the historic nature of the properties this tour will involve a large amount of standing and walking including stairs.
