Perpetuating the memory of one of the greatest men of the Victorian age

60th Anniversary Kelmscott Lecture: On Morris

November 14, 2015 14.15 at The William Morris Society at Kelmscott House

The distinguished artist David Gentleman will speak about Morris as artist, designer, businessman, writer and thinker, consider the effects his ideas had on his friends and contemporaries, reflect on his continuing influence on later generations of artists and designers, and identify which aspects of Morris have had most bearing on his own work.

David Gentleman, artist and designer, is best known for his books, watercolours, and his murals at Charing Cross tube station.

We are delighted to announce that we will have a stall from Sophie Schneideman Rare Books and Prints here at the museum this Saturday 2-5pm. Sophie has been an international rare book and print dealer for over 25 years,  serving a long apprenticeship at Maggs Bros, an eminent book firm in Mayfair, and dealing as Sophie Schneideman Rare Books since 2007.
